Thursday and Friday

Last week I flew to Boise, Idaho on Thursday. Me, my baby bump and my very large overpacked duffle bag got in around noon. Matt said he was very impressed I managed to fit everything I needed into one carry-on (which I replied was a miracle and not to ever expect that to happen again), but my bag was super duper heavy so he was worried about me lugging it around. Let's just say I was shuffling along VERY slowly the whole way through the airport. Not too long after I arrived I met up with my friend Makell and we went to Roaring Springs! We met her friend there with her kids and rode a bunch of the rides. Yes, preggies are allowed to go down waterslides. There were a select few I opted out on, but we hit up most of the family rides and had a blast! The hardest part was getting out of the rafts at the end and I needed a helping hand to get me up and out a majority of the time!

On Friday Megan and I had fun taking lots of model-esque photos of ourselves. Nothing says Cosmopolitan like a big fishy face.

Someone didn't get the memo that this one was supposed to be "show me your angry/pouty face" but I won't mention any names.

We just weren't on the same page in this one either, but we had fun taking them! I was super glad my sister finally made it after trying to fly on stand-by from Oklahoma and spending 22 hours in the airport! I would have been having a meltdown at that point, but she handled it like a trooper and still had energy on Friday to run around doing errands all day getting ready for my baby shower on Saturday. Which will be next on the bloggy, so stay tuned; however, now it's time for bed because I've recovering from a cold that someone so kindly shared with me on the plane ride back!

Almost 32 weeks

This is the only preggy picture we've taken recently, and it unfortunately doesn't accentuate the big belly, but trust me it's big. I'm becoming accustomed to bumping into counters and bouncing off people as my protruding midsection hits them while turning corners in the hallway at work. By the way this is my new favorite shirt. Our decorating theme for baby Kprow has been sheep and lamby sorts of things so I was super excited when I came across this tee and knew I had to have it. Even better, it was normally $17, but was on sale for $3.99! Sold! P.S. if my chin looks a little fuzzy in this photo that is because I did a poor job of trying to photo shop my double chin out of it. Note to self: pictures taken at an angle from above do wonders for masking chin rolls.

Matt's 29!

August 5th, Matt turned 29. It was pretty low key this year since for one it was right smack in the middle of the week on a Wednesday and secondly next year he is going to have a big blow out party for the big
3-0 (unbeknownst to Matt who I think would protest to that idea). Earlier this year we got him a new spiffy bicycle which due to the expense we said was going to be his birthday/christmas present. I used to pull that trick on my parentals as a kid and say if you get this for me now you don't have to get me a Christmas present, cuz secretly I knew I would still get a gift on Christmas morning. And sure enough on the day of Matt's bday I felt bad not having at least a little something for him to unwrap so I went and made a purchase I swore I'd never do....I bought a movie. Ahhh, the horror! Matt used to collect movies when he was single, then he married a meanie who thought spending money on movies that you only watch once or twice anyway is just silly. But I had seen the twinkle in his eye when he saw that Coraline was coming out on DVD with 3D glasses. So I caved, got it on my lunch break, wrapped it up in computer paper from work and decorated it with my highlighter and sharpie. It was a hit! After he opened it, we went to In N Out for a super fancy dinner and then the $3 theater to watch Star Trek (it was HIS birthday, so I didn't make a peep about the choice of movie :) Turns out, he loved that movie too and mentioned something the next day about buying it. Ay yi yi. Well maybe if he's especially lucky he'll get that to unwrap for Christmas this year.

My alternate boyfriend

My prized poster given to me by Ben and Chantal. They must have known I needed a replacement for the Jonathan Taylor Thomas poster I had when I was 10 that I kissed every night before bed. Since we'll be moving soon I figure hanging this in our nearly bare living room can't hurt. I even told Matt that if he wants he could hang one of Rachel McAdams who I always tease is his girlfriend. Although I might get a little jealous since she is super pretty. Matt on the other hand, in case you are wondering, is not at all impressed or even the slightest bit jealous of my infatuation with Robert. He always reminds me that he smokes in real life, which definitely brings the hotness factor waaaaaayyyyyyyyy down. Shame on you Rob, it's okay for you to be a bloodsucking vampire, but puffing on nasty cancer sticks? come on!

Long Lost Friend

(Haha Rachel! I beat you to it) I just returned after a reunion with a friend from high school who I hadn't seen, well, since high school so going on 7 years ago. It was so much fun! If the hubs hadn't been with us, I just might have called it a slumber party and stayed in her hotel room so we could have stayed up all night talking. But since I still have a job I must go to in the morning and be somewhat coherent for, Rachel, Matt and I went to dinner at a random grill/bar place that was still open and grabbed a bite to eat. I miss hanging out with friends! It was fun reminiscing about people we know and who is doing what with their lives now, which probably falls under the definition of gossiping, but I'll just call it "catching up" :) Thanks Rachel for squeezing in a visit with me on your summer road trip of spontaneity!! Let's make it a tradition!
