To my Pop

There once was a man named Dave
All he wanted was to live in a cave
The rest of his life just to camp and hike,
And of course everyday ride his motor bike.
He thought the mountain man life was for he,
Until he fell in love with Michelle Marie
Next thing you know he was on bended knee
And now all of us kids would have to agree
We are glad he embarked on the family frontier
Or all four of his children would not be here!

My dad still likes to ride his dirt bike
Even took me when I was just a little tyke
I'd ride up front as we would tear up the trails
He showed me that motorcycling isn't just for males.
My dad always likes to have fun outdoors
(But we had to make sure we had done our chores)
Then the whole family would take off for the day
To snowmobile, hike, or just go out and play.

He taught all of his kids to work hard
And to not rely on a credit card!
His two girls he showed how to take care of a car
How to change a tire has helped me a lot thus far.
My dad's the friendliest guy you'll ever meet
There's not one person he wouldn't greet.
He can light up a room and carry a conversation
Which has helped him a lot in his occupation.
For his work he gets to travel a lot overseas,
I don't know how he has time to catch any Z's.

So Dad, Pere, Pop, Papa, or Padre
In any language or name there is to say
I hope you have the best Fathers DAY!

What a women wants

This picture just warms my heart. I was teasing Matt that I had to take a picture because it was the first time I have ever seen him clean the bathroom. (He wanted to me put in here though, that he does indeed know HOW to clean a bathroom since he was in the custodial arts a.k.a. a janitor at his church for 3 years while he was in college!) I guess he was just taking a cleaning hiatus since we have been married. He had me inspect his work when he was finished and My Oh My did he go above and beyond! The floor was so incredibly clean (and hair-free) that you could eat off of it (but I wouldn't recommend that), the mirror was so streak free I could see into the future and even the chrome on all the faucets was so shiny and sparkly it would put diamonds to shame! I was so impressed that I think I've found the man in charge of bathroom duty each Saturday.....he just doesn't know it yet.

Scary Skelly

Recently I started summer school and am taking Anatomy. It is hardcore too. We have class and lab each night for 5 hours straight and all the material we learn doing those five hours we are expected to memorize and are quizzed on it the following day. Thankfully my job allows me some time to study and I can go through my bazillion flashcards of anatomy structures to memorize.  Even though it's been a doozy, I LOVE the class.  The human body is so fascinating! I don't know how anyone can learn about all the different structures of organisms all the way down to the complexity of the cells they are composed of and not realize that it was specifically CREATED and not just a product of nature and evolution. Tomorrow I have an Exam and have been studying all day trying to cram as much information into my slowly expanding brain. I think I might have to start taking some Ginko Biloba! :) I'm not normally a scaredy cat, well I guess that depends on who are asking, but we start working on cadavers this week and I am a little sqeeumish about it! The cadaver closet in our classroom gives me the heebie jeebies when I see it out of the corner of my eye in class even though the door is always closed!  Not only that but recently when the skeletons were rolled out as we were learning about them I wondered why skeletons and  skulls  always seem so creepy and seen as scary. Then I figured  it out today as I was studying this pic of a skull......... they are always smiling!!
