After realizing how much taking Moxie to the groomers turns out to be we decided to take a stab at doing it ourself. After ruining Matt's clippers from her thick mane of hair, we purchased some "doggie clippers" that came with an instructional video who made the whole grooming process look incredibly easy. Turns out they made it look way too easy! It took us a grand total of 3 hours to trim her hair down to a reasonable length plus a few accidental almost bald patches. We took turns holding her to keep her from wriggling away while the other one combed out her tangles and tried to trim her bangs. Her defense mechanism to get us to stop 'torturing' her was to let as many stinky silent toots out as possible so we would have to stop and take a breather! There was the moment too while Matt tried to landscape her behind when she decided it was a good time to start going number 2 and I had to snatch her and run her outside to the grass. In the end I'm not so sure she looked any better, just a lot less hairy.
The man whose never ending patience astonishes me. Moxie has no idea how lucky she is because I was ready to stop when she was only half way finished.
Matt still trying to get her tangles out.
And if we really took the time and energy to comb her locks out everyday and let it grow this is what a Lhaso Apso could look like!

All I can think of is the fur you'd have to clean up if you let that grow out...
