Oh Dear

So after our Dr. appointment today we found out baby Kprow will be convinced to make an appearance on his due date of Monday October 5th by induction if he doesn't decide to come sooner. That's exactly a week and two days away! Our doctor has consistently mentioned at each appointment that he has grown a lot, but today's words when he was feeling for his head on my lower abdomen was "this baby is huge!" Um, when referring to the size of our kid's head that will be exiting out of my girly parts the word huge is not really an adjective you want to hear. Might as well said he had a head the size of a watermelon. Well, I will say I hope the rest of his body is proportionate, I'd hate for him to not be able to hold his heavy bowling ball head up by the time he's walking.

The Final Countdown and Other Big News!

Only 10 more days until my official due date. Will he or won't he wait until then? that is the question. Or perhaps he will choose to drive his mom crazy and wait until a few extra days after. My brother on the other hand and his wife Chantal welcomed a baby boy Monday Sept 14th. He is so stinkin cute! I think he looks mostly like my brother, but has Chantal's mouth. I stole this photo of him from their blog, but you can check out their story and a bunch more of my nephews pics here. I'm an AUNTIE!!

Our Future Offspring

I saw someone else had done this where they morphed their two pictures to see what their future baby will look like. I merged this photo of Matt.....

And this one of me (not the chihuahua).....

And here is our....son? Hmmmm, he looks a little androgynous to me.

A Lot Has Changed

So this was me in April announcing what we were having. I think I was 17 or 18 weeks here. Fast forward to now at 37 weeks and this is what you get!

WoaH! And in case you were wondering from today there is exactly....
until our expected due date of October 5th. My next doctors appointment is this Friday so maybe we'll have news of him arriving sooner. Well, a girl can hope anyway :)

And if anyone decides to try this at home I'll offer some advice.
One: use washable markers.
Two: do not attempt to write while looking in a mirror because you may end up with something like this.
And then you'll really wish your markers were washable.

New

We've had lots of newness going on in the past 2 weeks. First of all my last day at work was September 5. It was bittersweet. I had ants in my pants for months looking forward to my last day and then before I knew it, it had arrived out of nowhere! That last week though our medical assistant was on vacation so I had her job of working up all the patients before they saw the doctor. It was a lot of work since I was on my feet more than usual, but it made the week fly by and every night I slept like a baby from being so exhausted!

The following weekend since it was a 3 day-er we spent the whole time moving from our apartment to Matt's grandma's house. His Gma Faye let us move in with her for a year so I can stay home with the little man and we can save up moola to buy a place of our own. I'm super incredibly grateful that she's allowing the 2 (soon to be 3) of us plus our dog Moxie, to descend upon her home. It means a lot to both Matt and I that I can stay home with the baby for at least the first year and then I can still go to night school.
This is our new room. It's actually a ton bigger then the one at our apartment, so much so that we even have a little sitting corner by the window with a glider and the baby's cradle. And then a HUGE bathroom connects to our room where the baby's changing table fit perfectly.

This is the new crib that we recently bought. We've been married for over 3 years and it's actually our very first furniture purchase we've made together! All the furniture we've had in the past was either given to us by family or we had before we got married. This crib normally was ridiculously expensive because it's made by Stanley furniture and is so heavy duty I wouldn't be surprised if it lasted forever. Lucky for us Matt and his mom happened to see it at a furniture store out in Ontario on a weekend when it was half off! It still was a splurge, but it turns into a toddler bed and a full bed later on so I foresee getting a lot of good use out of it! And besides it's bee-yoo-ti-ful!

As you can see our theme is Lambs and sheep. This is only small glimpse of how many sheep he has. On the shelf in the corner there is practically a flock of them hanging out on different shelves.
And then in our room this is the cradle that he'll be sleeping in for the first week, or months, until he outgrows it.
Yesterday we went to a baby shower for our friend Dia that Matt and I both knew in Utah. She is expecting a baby girl in December. We couldn't resist taking a preggy belly picture together.

USC

Take a close look at these USC tickets. That's right....it says ROW 1! Matt's mom Carol is a professor at USC and a few weeks ago she was asked to be the guest coach for a game. She invited Matt to go with her, and naturally he couldn't refuse!

They got to meet the coach Pete Carroll, get pictures with him and got a personal tour of the locker rooms and the whole stadium before anyone arrived. This a view from the top.

The team getting ready to play.

Matt and Carol got to be right on the field while they warmed up. Do football teams warm up? I have no idea, but I assume so. (As you can see I wouldn't have enjoyed this day nearly as much as Matt did since I know diddely about football) Matt got a new USC shirt and visor, and even little Kprow got a USC trojan horse baby mobile! Unfortunately by the end of the day Matt and his mom also had acquired a souvenir sunburn that nicely matched their red shirts.

And another shot of the field so you can jealously view how close they really were to the players. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for Matt and he had a blast, especially since USC smoked San Jose even before half time.

Baby Shower

I had to use this baby shower image again because it makes me laugh every time I look at it.

Right in the middle of playing "guess how big Kristen's mid section is" where everyone cut pieces of string and had to put them around my waist. About 3 were almost exact, a few were too small, and a majority cut their piece of string so big it could have wrapped around me twice!

The watermelon baby bassinet that my madre made for me.

The Hungry Caterpillar cupcake cake that we made the day before.

All the game winners showing of the goods they won. Jennifer, Auntie Linda, Cousin Liz, Grandma and Gaylene Smith. Looks like the games were rigged since so many of my family members won!

Some of the onesies and bibs that everyone made for our baby boy. They all turned out so cute!

My friends from high school Makell and Kim.

It turned out to be such a great day hanging out with family and friends, a lot that I hadn't seen in such a long time! Thanks Mom and Megan for all your hard work throwing my baby a shower. I'll return the favor for you Meggy Weggy whenever you and Kevin decide to have your first of twelve children. :)

Grrrrrr

I made my third attempt last night to blog about my baby shower. We've been having some technical difficulties with our internet at home. Got the pictures downloaded, but then then our internet connection disappeared. Fiddlesticks.
