For Thanksgiving this year, Matt's mom Carol came to visit. She and Sawyer both have a love for donuts so we checked out Guru Donuts in downtown Boise and it did not disappoint.
Actual Thanksgiving dinner we hosted at our neighborhood clubhouse.
A few days after Thanksgiving Sawyer and Scout were sick at the same time. Then I got sick and it was a domino effect from there with a bunch of people we shared time with Thanksgiving day: my Grandparents, Uncle, cousin's husband, my parents and then my cousin all were sick within a few days of each other. Lucky for Matt and Carol they both were spared.
With the cold weather we have spent lots to time doing our favorite thing, cuddling with lots and lots and lots of blankets!
This past Monday we did our third annual Christmas celebration gift exchange with Rosie and Steve.
Sawyer got some Minecraft books that he has been reading nonstop since then!
And some awesome crafts to do over Christmas break.
Scout was super exited to open up a Troll book! She recognized the Trolls right away and proceeded to entertain us with her dancing to the music on the book for the rest of the evening.
I love Sawyer's excited expression as Scout opened up a present.
Some legos to work on over Christmas break....
that ended up being build later that same night.
It was a fun night! The stuffed dog on the end table Scout picked out for their dog Gadget, but throughout the day started to think it was a dog for her. Thankfully she hasn't noticed that he's gone...yet.
At her daycare on Tuesday Santa came to visit! Her face and hand pose cracks me up! She looks less than thrilled to have met the Big Guy.
We have had a couple snow storms, the first one literally the day after Matt put our snow tires on!
The kids were super excited to see the snow falling and to take a picture with the snowman Sawyer built, or according to Scout "The 'Noman"
Then I had a great idea to have each of them open up a present from each other...you know, in celebration of the snow (i.e.: I just couldn't wait). Sawyer gave Scout a Winnie the Pooh carrier case filled with Tsum Tsum's and Scout gave Sawyer some Minecraft animals.
On the second to last day of school before Christmas break, the kids in Sawyer's first grade class had a Teddy Bear parade. They had to decorate a shoebox and pull it in a parade showcasing their Teddy Bear or other stuffed animal of their choosing. Sawyer chose to bring his stuffed aardvark Bunky along for the ride and his float was blinged out with Snowman light up lights, his name, snowflakes he cut out, and wheels that Matt made for him.
