Numero Cinco

We decided a while ago that Sawyer's 5th birthday could be his first 'friend' birthday if he wanted to have a party. It just so happened that Matt's aunt and uncle Rosie and Steve had found an actual Lego store in the area a month or so prior to his actual birthday. We went with them to check it out and we were all beyond amazed! Girl legos! Toddler legos! Man legos! I'm not sure who was having more fun looking at everything, Steve, Matt or Sawyer. We also saw that they did really affordable kid birthday parties in the store and the party favor the kids take home, is...yep, you guessed it....Legos! We booked Sawyer's birthday right then and there.

The theme for Sawyer's party was Super Heroes so all the lego kits the kids could pick out were Super Hero ones and we invited the kids to wear their favorite costume if they wanted to. Sawyer's birthday being in October makes it pretty convenient since most kids have their costumes out for halloween already!

Sawyer doesn't usually enjoy being center of attention so I wasn't sure how he would do opening up gifts with everyone watching, but I think the excitement of getting presents from friends made him quickly forget he was in the spotlight!

The owner of the store and his employee were so patient with the boys and individually helped them all build. It was obvious they must really enjoy their job! 

Everyone was concentrating on building their legos. This was the quietest five year old birthday party EVER!

Nana was even able to make a surprise visit for Sawyers' birthday party too! As you can see the party animal was all partied out by the end of the day. It was a really fun day celebrating Sawyer Emmett. He is such a helpful and sweet big brother and makes us all laugh daily!
