With Sawyer's numéro trois birthday coming up in a week I thought I better document some funny things he has been doing as a two year old before I forget.
*His favorite movie right now is "The Polar Express" which he calls the "Snowman Train" movie.
*He just started getting into labeling characters "good guys" or "bad guys".
*His favorite song to sing is the "Bumble bee song" and his favorite part of it is, what else, but the bee squishing part.
*He loves to talk about poop and pee and when we are eating he likes to reminds us that the food we are putting into our mouths is going to turn into poop. Can't argue with that logic.
*He loves school buses, excavators, and cement trucks and can spot them ten miles away. He also knows what every kind of construction equipment is called so if you call something a "digger" or "tractor" like I call everything he will correct you with "that's not a digger, that's a front end loader!" or "that's not a tractor, it's a scraper!"
*He likes to take my keys and we recently discovered he knows how to start the car with them. (That's a little scary). He tells me all the time that he is going to drive me to school.
*We have always put this extra iPod in his room since he was a baby and played classical music for him to go to sleep to at night. Just in the past week has been carrying it around with him and all on his own he figured out how to swipe his fingers across the screen to unlock it and play music. Matt asked him today if it was his phone and he replied "it's not my phone daddy, it's my iPad." Alrighty then, thanks for the clarification.
*He loves to brush his teeth by himself and his favorite toothpaste is this minty one he calls the "spicy paste".
*He chews gum like a pro and knows not to swallow it. A month ago he kept asking for a "gun to shoot" or at least that's what I thought he was saying and I couldn't figure out where he would have seen guns. We even took him to Fred Meyer to pick out a cap gun as a potty training reward, but he wasn't interested when he saw them. Turns out he was saying "gum to chew" not "gun to shoot"!
Some words he says that are cute:
COPCORN (popcorn)
FLUM (thumb)
HANGABERG (hamburger)
CAR CHEESE (macaroni and cheese)
One word he says that is not so cute:
FAWK (walk)
-- anyone that has talked to us recently knows this has been a work in progress for a few months to get him to say the word 'WALK' with a W. Matt and I both decided recently that it was a matter of necessity to get him to say it correctly after we were in TJ Maxx and he was yelling while in his stroller "Mommy I want to fawk in the store!" "I want to get out of the stroller and fawk!". Now I would like to think that most people probably realized he was trying to say walk, but it sounded bad. Really, really bad. I'm sure our faces turned fifty shades of red. Later that day we were working with him and having him repeat "Wa, Wa, Wa" and "Water" all of which he could say just fine. Then we said, "Okay now say WALK with a W, like Water". Frustrated he replied, "No fawk the doubleyou in the water!". And that's when I started snorting with laughter and had to exit the room. That 'W' session was then called quits for the day. Yesterday Matt worked with him again to no avail. Finally Matt just told him that 'fawk' is a bad word and he is not allowed to say it so if he wants to walk he is to say "Rock" instead. Now he just sounds Asian. Better than a potty mouth I guess.
Sawyer is one funny kid who likes to tease, has a hilarious sense of humor, has sensitive feelings, loves his blue blankey, loves his dog Moxie, and is a daddy or a mommy's boy depending on the day. Below are some recent photos. I noticed that in the last year I have majorly slacked on taking photos, but thanks to my new iPhone that is beginning to be remedied!

Your story about teaching him "w" made me laugh really hard! In fact, I made Jared pause what he was watching so I could read it to him! Miss seeing you guys, lets do a play date soon! And isn't it fun to not stock each other's blogs anymore?!?! So nice to be real blog friends :)
